DUBLIN - Shelia Ruth
(Stiefel) Bowman was a caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly to be with the Lord on February 16, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born in Bucyrus, OH on March 28, 1937. After graduating from Bucyrus High School, she went on to become an x-ray technician at The Ohio State University Hospital. She met her husband, Edgar M Bowman Jr there while x-raying his broken leg. They married on February 2, 1958 and were married 55 years before he preceded her in death. Shelia loved to travel and has been all across Europe, Russia, Latin American, Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed painting, knitting, reading, singing in the church choir, playing cards and in retirement also learned to enjoy and win at bingo. Shelia is survived by her children, Lynne Valentine (Harry); Michael Bowman (Jan); Phillip Bowman (Tammy); and her grandchildren, Zachary Bowman (Whitney), and Jack Bowman (Jordan). She is also survived by four of her siblings, Jacqueline (Wilbur) Hugli, Richard (Lynda) Stiefel, Carolyn (Ken) Ambrozy, and Thomas (Cherie) Stiefel. Besides being preceded in death by her husband, she was also preceded by her son, David Bowman, and siblings, Nancy Malone, Robert Stiefel, John Stiefel, James Stiefel and Sharren Lucas. Visitation will be held on March 2, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St, Plain City, OH. Pastor Brian Webb will be officiating a Memorial Service in the same location on March 3, 2023 at 10:00 am.
