Josephine (Adolph) Jeffries (1926-2123) departed for her eagerly awaited Final Journey on February 11, 2023. Preceded in death by husband Otis, son Richard Paul, daughter Theresa, and brother Ralph Adolph. She was a graduate of South High School and before marriage worked for Nationwide Insurance. She later worked for many years at the Lazarus Westland store. She was a founding member and longtime volunteer at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church. As an original resident of Georgian Heights, she was active in the Civic Associatio­n. Her family will remember her as a prolific seamstress, a frugal housewife, an admirable cook, and the mortal nemesis of all dirt. The only way she could stop eating all the chocolate was to eat all the chocolate. She was generous to all but herself. Surviving family are: daughters Elizabeth (Larry Cunningham), Karen Tachi (Masato), daughterin-law Trish (Brad Bivens), son-in-law Ronald Powell, Grandchild­ren Deanna Aguilar (Heri), Christian and Allison Fala, great-grandchild­ren Wesley, Reina, Faith Rose and Athena, nieces and nephew. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway in Grove City. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 1, at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 4131 Clime Road in Columbus, followed by luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 4131 Clime Road, Columbus, 43228. Private interment at a later date.
