COLUMBUS - Dr. Vincent Solomon, age 84, passed away on March 3, 2023. Vinnie loved life to its fullest. Born in Utica, NY he graduated from Utica Free Academy (1952), Utica College (1960), University of Buffalo Dental School (1964) and took post graduate courses at The Ohio State University, particular­ly enjoying Italian and anthropolo­gy courses. Vince was on the Fencing team at Utica College; Captain and dentist in the Air Force, stationed in Thailand; and practiced dentistry in Reynoldsbu­rg for over 38 years. He resided in both Columbus, OH and Henderson, NV. He LOVED playing tennis and still hit with his son Jerry. He was a tennis referee at The Ohio State University. Vince was very intelligen­t, quick-witted, and loved learning and debating. He was previously on the Board at Temple Israel, a member of Sertoma and Masons, and sat on the Reynoldsbu­rg City Council for 2 years. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Jene Solomon and brother, Stephen Solomon. Survived by his wife, Sherry Solomon; children, Jerry (Mariah Clark) Solomon, Julie (Don) Zoog and Adam Solomon; step sons, Matt (Christy) Leiner and Dan (Rachel Clark) Leiner; grandchild­ren, Donovan (Marissa) and Amara Solomon, Travin and Avery Durham, Ethan and Kyra Zoog, Madison, Brandon, Sophia and Emilia Leiner; and great friend, Rick Weissman. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 5th at Forest Lawn - Temple Israel Section. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in Vinnie’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice or The Ohio State University Anthropolo­gy Dept., The Ohio State Men’s Tennis Coach Discretion­ary Fund or Temple Israel.
