Over 40 years after a sequel to Mel Brooks’ 1981 comedy History of the World, Part I was teased, fans finally get it in the form of this eight-episode series led by Brooks, who is also a writer and executive producer. As with the original film, each installment of this comedy features a variety of sketches that offer hilarious takes on different periods of human history. Leading the cast with Brooks are cowriters Wanda Sykes, Nick Kroll and Ike Barinholtz. Also appearing will be a large ensemble of actors, including Jillian Bell, Danny Devito, David Duchovny, Johnny Knoxville, Emily Ratajkowski, Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, J.B. Smoove and many more.
The Voice
NBC, 8 p.m. ● Season Premiere Season 23 of the singing competition brings on two new judges – Grammywinning artist/songwriter/producer Chance the Rapper and singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Niall Horan. They join returning judges Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton, who is leaving The Voice after this season.
Perry Mason
HBO, 9 p.m. ● Season Premiere
When the scion of a powerful oil family is murdered, Perry, Della and Paul find themselves at the center of a case that will uncover far-reaching conspiracies and force them to reckon with the true meaning of guilt. Matthew Rhys, Juliet Rylance and Chris Chalk star.
Rock the Block
HGTV, 9 p.m. ● Season Premiere
The stakes will be raised to an all-time high as four teams of HGTV’S powerhouse experts prepare to face off in a renovation in Berthoud, Colorado. Craftsman and design expert Ty Pennington is back to host the new season. Competitors will include renovation hotshots Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island); deluxe design experts Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony
Elle (Luxe for Less); farmhouse fanatic Jonathan Knight and high-end residential designer Kristina Crestin (Farmhouse Fixer); and house-flipping expert Page Turner and contractor extraordinaire Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip). Each team will have just six weeks and a budget of $250,000 to renovate identical properties situated in a rustic Colorado landscape and morph them into luxurious homes.
Jared From Subway: Catching a Monster
Investigation Discovery, beginning at 9 p.m.; also streams on discovery+ ● New Series This three-part docuseries (airing backto-back tonight on ID) reveals the untold story behind the fall of former Subway sandwiches spokesman Jared Fogle. In 2015, Americans who had been inspired by his story of overcoming obesity through a Subway diet were stunned when authorities brought multiple charges of child endangerment against him and his business partner, Russell Taylor. Jared From Subway delves into the investigation that finally exposed Fogle’s true nature as a child sex predator.
Rain Dogs

This dark comedy series is the unconventional love story between a working-class single mum, her 10-year-old daughter and a privileged gay man. Daisy May Cooper, Jack Farthing and Ronke Adekoluejo star.
