Donald L. Mains, Jr.

Donald L. Mains, Jr. passed away on March 6, 2023. Don was born on August 2, 1942 in Springfield, Illinois to Donald L. Mains Sr. and Grace M. Ezzo (Tufero).

He was preceded in death by his parents, second mother, Ruth Mains, step-father Vincent (Babe) Ezzo, first love Joyce (Gooding) Mains, and daughter, Beth Mains.

Survived by his wife, Jadine (Stalter) Mains, daughter Kimberly (Lance) Olds, sons Keith (Jill) Mains, and Paul Mains, brothers Richard Mains and Joseph Mains and sister, Michelle Mains and granddaughters Rachael Mains and Jenna Mains. In 2011, he married the next love of his life, Jadine (Stalter) Mains. After the marriage, he was further blessed with a wonderful second family who he loved dearly and made many wonderful memories with Becky (Trevor) Thomas and granddaughters Brooklin and Claire Thomas.

Don graduated from Columbus North High School in 1960, received a Bachelors of Science from The Ohio State University in 1966 and a law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1969. He retired from practicing law in 2018. Don also was the President of Zoo Amusement Park until 1980, when it was sold to the City of Columbus. He served in the Army Reserves Medical Corps from 1961 to 1969. Don was blessed with two wonderful partners, Joyce and Jadine, who shared their love and gave him fantastic support and understanding for which he was eternally grateful.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6-8pm at the HOSKINSON Funeral Home-kirkersville, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville. Military honors will be presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance at 6pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 10, 2023, at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 5133 Walnut Rd. Buckeye Lake, OH, with Father William A. Hritsko as celebrant.
