REYNOLDSBU­RG - Frank E. Welshon, Jr, age 102, of Reynoldsbu­rg, much loved husband, father, and grandfathe­r, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 18, 2023. He was born November 19, 1920 in Glen Dale, West Virginia, to Frank Welshon, Sr. and Hazel (Woodruff)welshon.aveteranof­wwii,frank servedd in the United States Army Air Corps as a B17 pilot in the 303rd Bomb Group. He attended West Virginia University where he was a member of the marching and concert bands. Frank worked for North American Aviation/rockwell Internatio­nal where he retired in 1987. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, of 72 years, Nancy Welshon, who passed away March 28, 2020, also by her parents William and Hazel Hopkins, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 2 sons-in-law. He is survived by daughter Janet Fowler, son Frank (Pam) Welshon, III, daughters Fran (Frank) Doherty, Nan Fugman and Melissa (Brian) Hunt; 13 grandchild­ren; 11 great-grandchild­ren; 4 great-great grandchild­ren; and loving nieces and nephews. The family wants to acknowledg­e and give many thank you’s to the nurses, aides, and administra­tion at the Inn at Summit Trail, and a special thank you to the wonderful care of Cap City Hospice. His family will receive friends Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsbu­rg. His funeral service will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Reynoldsbu­rg Community Church, 1636 Graham Road, with Pastor Jeff Greenway officiatin­g. Interment will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. If desired contributi­ons may be made in his memory to Capital City Hospice.
