Find out when 11 Columbus area splash pads are open

Have kids getting out of school who are too little for the pool?

No need to fret. Tots can get in on the water fun at public splash pads in and around Columbus. Here are their 2023 kickoff dates and season hours.

Columbus

The four Columbus Recreation and Parks splash pads--barnett, Blackburn, Linden and Scotio Southland-are all open on Saturday and Sunday, but then closed again until the season starts on June 3. Starting June 3, they will be open from 12-6 p.m. daily through Sept. 3.

Suburbs

● The Ballantrae Community Park (Dublin), aka the “Bunny Park,” has a splash pad that will be open Saturday through Labor Day. Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

● The Gahanna Swimming Pool splash pad will be open to the public starting Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., and then exclusivel­y to those with daily or seasonal pool passes from 12-8 p.m. Starting Aug. 17, the splash pad will be open to the public from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. through Sept. 30

● The Grove City Splash Pad, located in Fryer Park, is open Saturday through Labor Day. Its hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Mondays-thursdays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Fridays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends.

● Hanby Park (Westervill­e) has a splash pad that will be open Saturday through Sept. 22 from dawn to dusk.

● Hilliard Station Park has a splash pad which is open daily now through Sept. 30 from 9 a.m.-10 p.m.

● The new Schneider Park Splash Pad (Bexley) should be open for use by mid-july, city representa­tives estimate. Operation hours are still to-bedetermin­ed.

● “The Splash” in Village Green Park (Powell) is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Normal hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Jnimesheim@dispatch.com @Jacknimesh­eim
