Events to help prep for Memorial Tournament

- Jack Nimesheim Columbus Dispatch USA TODAY NETWORK

Looking to celebrate the Memorial Tournament but don’t have tickets? You can find fun in Dublin to go along with the golf tournament.

Practice rounds for the city’s annual PGA event begin Monday.

In the meantime, locals looking to tee off the fun early can check out these events.

Disc and footgolf

Families looking to play nine holes without breaking out the clubs can try these modern spins on golf at Riverside Crossing Park. The park’s new course is open to the public now through the tournament’s end on June 4. Discs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

At QR codes scattered throughout the course, players can support the Memorial Tournament’s charitable partners--the Nicklaus Children’s

Health Care Foundation, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat.learn.play. Foundation.

Downtown scavenger hunt

“The Dublin Cup: Play 9” is back for a second year. Now through June 4, those who visit nine of 18 participating Dublin locations can claim a Memorial Tournament koozie and enter a grand prize raffle. The grand prize includes Irish Festival tickets, numerous gift cards and a signed Memorial Tournament pin flag.

Participating locations include Market Bar, Urban Meyer’s Pint House and the aforementioned disc and foot golf course. Those looking to partake in the challenge can pick up a scorecard at either the Memorial Tournament Golf Shop at North Market Bridge Park or the Dublin Visitor and Information Center. Completed scorecards can be submitted at the golf shop. Jnimesheim@dispatch.com @Jacknimesheim
