Alice Wilson

GAHANNA - Alice Ilene Wilson, age 94 of Gahanna, passed away peacefully October 2, 2023, surrounded by her children and family. Born December 13, 1928 to Joseph and Elsie Bartunek in Glen Haven, Michigan. She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4719 Gahanna, volunteered at the Veteran’s Home Chillicothe and a member of St. Matthew Church Gahanna. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, golfing, and playing cards and Yahtzee. In her words, “I am most proud of when I got married and had my babies” and “The way my family and extended family turned out – must have done something right”. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Jack Carol Wilson, and her brother, Joe Bartunek. She is survived by her sisters Louise Gildenmeister, Mary Jane Moorehouse (Lynn); five sons, Jack (Dona), Robert, Donald (Craig), Rodney (Pam), and Roger (Kim); 7 grandchildren, Michael (Heather), Kristi (Jason), Kelly (Andre), Megan (Mickey), Blair (Matt), Andrew (Kelly), and Matthew; 9 great grandchildren, Gregory, Dylan, Sarina, Henri, Louisa, Lane, Julia, Collin, Raylynn; two great-great grandchildren, Sofia and Skye; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 3-5 P.M. Followed by a funeral service on, Monday ,October 9, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. both at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Interment at the Veterans Garden in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the staff of Mother Mccrory Manor and Suncrest Hospice.
