William J. Rackett

-

He was an avid hummingbird watcher, a foosball champion, and enthusiastic lover of black licorice, fried shrimp and his homegrown strawberries and radishes. He carried on the title of family bread maker as he continuously perfected the secret family recipe. Most easily described, Bill felt deeply, lived simply and could often be found admiring the beauties of any given sunset.

Bill was many things to many people and will be deeply missed. Notably, he is survived by his two daughters and son-in-laws, Holly and Jonathan Tam, Colleen and Chris Damian. He will be profoundly missed by his grandchildren Kaylani, Al, Christopher, and Demarest. He is also survived by his long time partner, Jennifer Morrow, her daughter Cailan Cook and his godson Aiden Cook. His absence is felt by his siblings, Barbara Rackett, Pearl Thompson, Mary Ellen Delaney (Marion), Patti Cridge (Alan), Dave Rackett (Sue), Jean Marie Graham, Sue Nowicki (Jim) and sister-in-law Traci Rackett. He was loved by more than 27 nieces and nephews along with their young growing families.

His loved ones are eternally grateful that he will join so many incredible family members and friends who went before him. He will enter into heaven and be reunited with his loving parents William “Bill” and Jean Marie Rackett (née: Wuerstle), his siblings Beverly Rackett and James “Jimmy” Rackett, his brother-in-law Sami Graham, his niece Brooklyn Gee, and many other aunts, uncles and friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2pm on Friday, March 1st, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lebanon, OH. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery followed by a celebration of life where his family and friends can gather to rejoice in the time they spent and memories they made with him.

For those who wish to remember him in his hometown of New Albany, a memorial mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection on Saturday, March 2nd at 11am.
