- Carol Ann Pearson passed away March 29, 2024. Born on April 6, 1950 and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Carol attended Columbus Public Schools. After graduating from Whetstone High School, Carol continued to Kent State to earn her bachelor’s degree. While there, she was a member of the Alpha Lambda Chapter of the Kappa Phi Club, a university Christian women’s organizati­on. After graduation, she was elected as their National Alumnae Secretary for 2 terms. She was a life member as well as a member of the Columbus Alumnae.

Carol’s career with Columbus Public Schools included a variety of positions. She was an elementary teacher at Northgate. Alpine, and Duxberry Park Arts Impact schools. She was a middle school teacher at Crestview and Dominion middle schools. After earning her master’s degree from OSU, Carol worked in the Peer Assistance Review program. She served as principal of Parkmoor Elementary as well as the Arts Impact Middle School.

Carol was an intelligen­t, strong, take charge individual whose determinat­ion was an asset in her teaching, leadership in kappa Phi, and throughout her health challenges. Her witty send of humor and her caring, compassion­ate personalit­y made her the best friend one could ever hope for. Her faith was strong and an inspiratio­n to so many.

Carol was an advocate of many charities including, the National Kidney Foundation, Parkinson’s Foundation, American Cancer Society, Disabled American Veterans, and the Humane Society. Carol had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs. In her retirement, she transporte­d dogs scheduled for euthanasia to non-kill shelters around the state.

Carol is survived by her brother, Jim Pearson; nephews, Michael (Lori) Pearson and David (Meghan) Pearson; and great nieces and nephew, Elliot, Olivia, and Ethan Pearson.

Arrangemen­ts entrusted to Schoedinge­r Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, where a visitation will be held on Tuesday April 9, 2024 from 9:0010:00am, followed by a funeral service at 10:00am.
