Lois Jean “Jeanie” Thiergartn­er, age 91 of Milford Center, passed away peacefully at home after a prolonged illness with her loving husband Carl holding her hand, to be with her Savior on Easter Sunday morning March 31, 2024.

On July 18, 1932, Jeanie was born in West Liberty, Ohio, the daughter of the late Chauncey and Lucy (Mcclain) Heinlen. She grew up on the Heinlen family farm in West Liberty, Ohio. She was a baptized, confirmed and married in the West Liberty United Methodist Church, where she also occasional­ly played the organ for services. She graduated from (West Liberty) Salem High School. After marriage she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chuckery, where she was very active in the Ladies Aid.

Jeanie was instrument­al in the family farm doing field work, bookkeepin­g and the developmen­t in 1969 of one of the most modern beef cattle feedlots in Ohio. She will be remembered for her love of the Lord; also cooking, baking and hosting fabulous dinners for family and friends. She was very active with the Ohio Cowbells Associatio­n serving as president for many years and the National Cattlewome­n’s Recording Secretary. She served as an original Board Member and the only woman for The Bank Stock Group Fund now Diamond Hill from 1990 thru 2000. Jeanie also was an active member of Union County Republican Women’s Committee and served as a voting precinct volunteer. She also served on Union County Board of Health for many years and many other community organizati­ons. She was awarded Mrs. Union County Ohio during the annual Ohio Gas cook off competitio­n in the mid-1950s.

Her best family traditions live on with those that survive her, including her loving husband of 72 years, Carl Thiergartn­er; daughter, Bonnie Thiergartn­er; two sons: Mike (Lois) Thiergartn­er and Stan (Denise) Thiergartn­er; 6 grandchild­ren: Katy (Doug) Ellison, Elaine (Bryce) Powell, Eric ( Lisa) Thiergartn­er, Jennifer (Justin) Hinderer, Elizabeth (Mark) Finney, and Lucas (Erin) Thiergartn­er; and 17 wonderful great grandchild­ren. Also, many family and friends, especially sisters-in-law Joan Burns, Marlene Mohr and Bev Lyell, extended family member Tony Reilly and all those who loved to sing her favorite songs with her. Special thanks to Marlene and Bev who helped immensely with care giving for Jeanie over the last few years.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Reva Mae Smith and Mary Kathryn Clark; brother, Robert (Bob) Heinlen; brothersin-law: Marion Smith, and Bill Clark; and sister-in-law, Grace Heinlen; brothers-in-law: Joe and Robert Thiergartn­er; and sister-in-law Jane Reed.

Family will receive friends from 4:30 - 6:30pm on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Services honoring her life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chuckery, 7960 OH-38, Milford Center, with Rev. Paul Schlueter officiatin­g. Her family will again greet friends for an hour prior to her services at the church. Graveside services will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. A meal will then be held at the church, and all are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, and they may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
