Delores Ann “Dee” (Whicker) Goodwin, age 70, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by love and family on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

She was born February 23, 1954 to George and Betty Whicker at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Covington, KY. The Air Force relocated her dad when she was 11 to Columbus, Ohio where she made lifelong friends attending St. Ladislas School and Catholic Church. She graduated from Father Wehrle High School in 1972 and earned her certificat­e in Radiologic Technology from Riverside Methodist Hospital in 1974. Soon after she began her treasured and inspiring career at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Imaging Department. She was a tremendous clinical educator and profession­al to many students of the university’s X-ray program. She retired after 30 years from OSU and continued to provide unmatched care for many years with Ohio Health. She was a proud member of her profession­al organizati­ons, the OSRT and ASRT. She loved assisting with organizing reunions and celebratio­ns for her coworkers and high school classmates. She was the life of every party.

Left to cherish the love she gave, are her husband, Ken Goodwin, her children Matt Tschirner (Christy); Andrea Tschirner (Corey Hardin); her grandchild­ren, Eric, Mhing, Claire, and Drew, who affectiona­tely called her “Neenee”; her brother Andy (Diane) Whicker and their children Chris, Eric, and Jenn, and her sister Carol (Tim) Stevener. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty Whicker.

Dee never knew a stranger and was always the first to welcome. She had a way of making a lasting impression and lighting up a room with her laughter and her stories. She leaves a wealth of family, friends, colleagues and former students who have provided so much love, support and joy to her life and made it a life well lived.

Family will receive loved ones at MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43206 on Wednesday, April 17th 2-4pm and 5-8pm and Thursday, April 18th, 3-8pm, with a prayer service at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery Mother of Sorrow’s Chapel 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 on Friday, April 19th at 12:30pm with internment to follow.

Reception for family and friends to celebrate her amazing life will be held 3 - ? pm at Plank’s Cafe, 743 Parsons Avenue, Columbus, OH 43206.
