Margaret Ann Smith, (Peggy), age 70, also lovingly know as Mamaw, ran into Jesus’ arms on March 30, 2024. Peggy was born June 11,1953 in Logan, Ohio. She graduated from Pickeringt­on High School in 1971 and went on to major in education at Miami University where she then graduated in 1975 and taught high school Spanish for 30 years. She met the love of her life while lifeguardi­ng summer of 1973, and got married in 1975. Peggy had a profound love for music and was an active member at Lithopolis United Methodist Church for 37 where she played organ and piano, and was an active part of the praise band. She was then able to serve the Lord with the best of friends. Peggy loved to bake, read, and was an avid Buckeyes and Reds fan, but more than anything, she loved her family and being Mamaw to her 6 grandchild­ren. She will forever be missed for her unconditio­nal love for others, sincere compassion, and her innate nature to always give and serve others. Peggy is preceded in death by her mother and father Robert and Jean Harris, mother and father-in-law, Thorton and Mary Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Jeff Prose, and son-in-law, Aaron Farley. She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 48 years David Smith; daughter, Katy Farley; son, Mark (Megan) Smith; and grandchild­ren, Sam, Emma, and Maggie Farley; Meredith, Ryan, and Luke Smith; brother, Mike (Eileen) Harris; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit from 10-11am on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Lithopolis United Methodist Church’s Multi-ministry Center, 80 N. Market St., Lithopolis, Ohio 43136, with celebratio­n of life following promptly at 11am in the church sanctuary. A continued visitation will be held after service with light lunch provided in the Multi-ministry Center of the church.
