New Year’s Eve events across city suit all tastes, age groups

New Year’s Eve is just around the cor­ner, and Mem­phi­ans will have plenty of choices of where to eat, drink and cel­e­brate the end of 2015. Here are a few en­ter­tain­ment op­tions across the Bluff City:


The city’s flag­ship New Year’s Eve event re­mains the cel­e­bra­tion on Beale Street and in Handy Park, ex­pected to draw more than 50,000 peo­ple on Thurs­day. This year’s fes­tiv­i­ties kick off at 7 p.m. Though it’s free to at­tend, only those 21 and up will be al­lowed in. Be­gin­ning at 9 p.m.

there will be mu­sic from Glo­ri­ana and the Jeff Jensen Band. The evening’s cen­ter­piece, the Hard Rock Gui­tar Drop, will take place at mid­night. Var­i­ous lo­cal tele­vi­sion net­works as well as CNN are ex­pected to broad­cast the cel­e­bra­tions on Beale live.
