Incumbent aldermen Bobby Simmons in Position 4 and Jack Young in Position 5 are seeking re - election, while Jason Sykes has pulled a petition for Position 6.

Alderman Jay Rainey, appointed to the Position 6 alderman seat in November when John Barzano moved out of Bartlett, has said he will not seek election for a full term.

The three aldermanic offices are the only ones on the Bartlett municipal ballot on Nov. 6. However, if Bartlett voters approve a municipal schools referendum on Aug. 2, five school board positions will be added to the ballot .

The deadline for filing in the November races is Aug. 16.

The Election Commission will allow candidates interested in the potential school board posts to pick up petitions before the Aug. 2 referendum to allow more than two weeks between the vote and the deadline for the school board seats.

Simmons and Young already announced their intentions to seek re - election.

Young, who will be seeking his fourth term, ran unopposed in 2004 and 2008.
