Mr. and Mrs. Westley Cooper Morrison of Memphis are pleased t o announce the marriage of their daughter, Helen Byars Morrison, to Alexander Pierce Guyton, the son of Dr. and Mrs. James Lawrence Guyton also of Memphis. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. David Henderson Jenkins of Indianola, Mississippi, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kelso Fisackerly, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eugene Morrison formally of Earle, Arkansas, now living in Memphis, Tennessee. Grandparents of the groom are Dr. and Mrs. Patrick Louis Pierce of Long Beach, Mississippi, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Clifton Guyton of Jackson, Mississippi. The couple was married last evening in a worship s e r v i c e a t C h r i s t United Methodist Church in Memphis. Reverend Bill Williams and Reverend Norman Burton Brooks officiated at the service. Music was provided by organist John Palmer and harpist Mary Aubrey Landrum. A reception was held at the University Club.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s wedding gown had been worn f o r three genera t i o n s , f i r s t by h e r Grandmother Helen and then her mother. The Maid of Honor was Alison Suzanne Humphreys. Bridesmaids included Dial Morrison Abernathy, Norma Caldwell Cox, Patton Leigh Ellis, Natalie Duke Francis, Jennifer Ruth Guyton, sister of the groom, Chelsea Rose Jewell, Jennings Morgan Pitts, Beverly Garrett Rutana, Nancy Katherine Ray, Haleigh S t ratton Sherbak, Margaret Elizabeth Turner, and Elizabeth Livingston Wilder. Program Attendants were Ivy Marie Bryant, Martha Hunt Campbell, Milner Owens Staub, and Mallory McCord Aycock. Scripture was read by Hailey Anne Robinson and the bride’s proxy was Hope Elizabeth Sullivant. The ring bearer was Benjamin Allen Myers, Jr.
Best Man was Arthur Clifton Guyton II, brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Aleksandr Birg, Trevor Starin Granger, Andrew David Kaminski, Kyle Joseph Lad, Jonathan Worth Morgan, We s t l e y Cooper Morrison, Jr., brother of the bride, David Gil Nachman, Matthew Gary Petty, Parth Dinesh Sheth, Robert Charles Alewishus Taintor, Stephen Paul Walker, and Henry GordanWynn IV. Ushers were Benjamin Boylston Beckerman, Jordan Thomas Poe- Crawford, Robert Murphy Ladyman, and Andrew Christopher Haig Manugian.
The bride graduated from Hutchison School before earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia where she served as president of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She now teaches Spanish at Hutchison. The groom is a graduate of Memphis University School and Dartmouth College where he served as president of Sigma Nu Fra t e r n i t y. He i s now an investment banker with Raymond James.
