Find the perfect “green valentine” at the Winter Plant Sale at the Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Road, Friday and Saturday; 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., both days. Choose from house plants, custom potting by Rick Pudwell (your pot or theirs), unique terrariums and specialty garden gift items. Garden staff and Master Gardeners will be available to assist with plant care tips and purchases. The event is free. Call 901- 636-4100.

Make a $25 donation to the Wolf River Conservanc­y, and a tree will be planted in honor of that special someone on March 17 at WRC’s seventh annual Tree Planting. Anyone from Tennessee who joins the Arbor Day Foundation in February will receive 10 free Eastern redbud trees to plant. The free trees are part of the nonprofit Foundation’s Trees for America campaign. The trees will be shipped between March 1 and May 31, with planting instructio­ns. The 6- to 12inch trees are guaranteed to grow. Members also receive a subscripti­on to the foundation’s bimonthly publicatio­n and “The Tree Book,” which contains informatio­n about planting and care.
