Are the people who are shocked about government surveillance the same viewers who have been watching a show called “Big Brother” (7 p.m., WREG-TV Channel 3) for the past 14 seasons?

Every summer, this exhibitionists-in-a-fishbowl series arrives with some new wrinkle in the rules. Who knew this would all result in novels like “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”?

Given the finite number of ways to make outdoor cooking remotely interesting, the new series “King of the Grill” (9 p.m., Discovery) puts the em- phasis on the members of an eccentric Texas family and their colorful friends.
