People’s rights trampled
Daniel A. Fundo, Memphis
It looks like “government by the people” is dead. Even though the people of California voted, in a free election, against gay marriage, the Supreme Court has ruled that their vote is unconstitutional. How is it that a group with no elected members can overturn the will of the people?
And what’s next? Maybe it will be unconstitutional to forbid noncitizens from voting. Oh, wait — they already did that too! We need help.
