Paula Deen’s corporate sponsors are no different from strong parents trying to discourage a child from associating with a friend that uses the N-word (June 26 online article, “Harrah’s Tunica to rebrand Paula Deen Buffet”). It’s not a popular decision and the child may not be a bad kid, but you wouldn’t want your child to be a part of that.
It’s not a popular choice, but someone has to take the lead of no tolerance.
