Police identify homicide suspect

Police issued a warrant Wednesday charging 34-year- old Christopher Brown with first-degree murder and criminal attempt first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman Saturday in the 700 block of Hanley.

Police were called to the address at 11:10 p.m. Saturday after a shooting. In a vehicle there, they found Albert Fips, 47, and a 34-year-old unidentified woman, both with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced Fips dead; the woman was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis in noncritical condition.
