Trails, sidewalks for communities

Three West Tennessee communities have been awarded state grants totaling more than $1.3 million to build bicycle and pedestrian trails, fix sidewalks and improve the appearance of central business districts.

Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer announced the grants Wednesday for Atoka, in Tipton County, Brownsville in Haywood County and Halls, in Lauderdale County.
