Desoto Healthcare worker charged
A former employee of DeSoto Healthcare Center in Southaven has been charged with acquiring a controlled substance through misrepresentation, fraud or subterfuge, according to Mississippi Atty. Gen. Jim Hood.
Susan Chapman, 50, of Sarah, was charged with one count of acquiring Lortab that had been prescribed to another person, according to a release from Hood’s office.
Chapman turned herself in to the DeSoto County Jail June 17 and was released on $10,000 bond. She could face up to five years if convicted.
Joe Sanderson of the attorney general’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is investigating the case, which will be prosecuted by Special Asst. Atty. Gen. Myrick Jackson.
