Spending, income up slightly in May

Consumer spending rose 0.3 percent last month while income rose 0.5 percent, the U.S. Commerce Department said Thursday.

But spending was weaker in April, February and January than previously estimated

Paul Dales, senior economist at Capital Economics, estimated second- quarter growth has slowed to an annual rate of 1.5 percent.
