- By Jason Smith

The University of Memphis’ basketball court at FedExForum is getting a Bluff City-themed makeover for next season.

After giving Tigers fans the opportunity to vote for one of four new court designs, the athletic department announced Thursday that nearly half of the 6,000 votes cast since June 13 were for a design that includes the city skyline and the Hernando DeSoto Bridge.

The new floor will also feature an enlarged Memphis Tiger at midcourt, the new American Athletic Conference logo and Tigers athletics social media marks.

“We thought that the voting process would be a great chance for our fans to offer their opinions as stakeholders in the Tigers’ basketball program, and they responded in massive numbers,” University of Memphis athletic director Tom Bowen said in a release. “It confirms the passion that Memphis fans have for their athletic programs at the university.”
