Promise broken on health insurance

- Ann Vance,

Since the 1960s my family has paid for health insurance, going without many other things to pay the premiums. When our employers began helping with insurance we paid part of the premium and chose our plan. We retired in 2008 and paid the premiums to keep our doctors and health insurance with my husband’s employer.

We just received a letter from the employer, stating that beginning in January 2014 we can no longer buy our health care from them. We must now partner with a professional Medicare Coordinator service.

Upset and angry is not enough to express my feelings. I heard over and over and over that citizens of the USA would be able to keep their own health insurance and doctors.
