Alleged shooter in custody
Police have a man in custody for the June 6 shooting of a Papa John’s delivery driver in Southeast Memphis, according to an affidavit.
Three men approached Papa John’s delivery driver Corey Levy and shot him after he completed a delivery in the 3100 block of Cypress Lake. The man in custody told police the other two robbers held a BB gun to Levy’s head and a handgun to his stomach. One man shot Levy in his stomach and the robbers ran south through the Madison Cypress Lakes apartments, according an affidavit.
Police Charged Zaccheus Scott, 19, who was already in jail after being charged with criminal attempted first-degree murder in another case, with especially aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $2 million. He is due in court at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
It was unclear if the other suspects in the pizza robbery were in custody.
