Man leaving for work is shot and robbed in his carport

A man leaving for work was robbed and shot in his carport at 5:20 a.m. Friday in the 6600 block of Kirby Meadows Cove.

The victim was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis in critical condition. The suspect, who wore a hoodie, escaped and is being sought.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Alyssa Macon-Moore said the suspect demanded the victim “drop it off.” When the victim gave him money, the suspect shot him, she said.
