- By Michael Lollar

Rivercrest Elementary School teacher Christy Street and two men were arrested Friday on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of firearms during the commission of a felony.

Street, 34, was arrested with Jeremy Street, 36, and Wesley Spring, 27, as they left a residence at 4049 Graham Oaks Court, near Macon Road and North Graham, according to the police affidavit.

It said members of the Organized Crime Unit’s criminal enterprise team used a search warrant and found 399.4 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, 21 firearms and an assortment of ammunition. Using another search warrant at 4353 Estridge Drive, near Waring Road and Sam Cooper Boulevard, police said they found four marijuana plants and a marijuana growing operation with grow lights, ventilation and watering systems.

Police said t he men gave statements i nclud i n g “admissions of guilt,” and Christy Street “refused to give a statement.” Police said they seized Jeremy Street’s Infinity i35 and his Honda Pilot and Spring’s GMC Yukon “for being used to transport the marijuana.” They also seized $440 from a safe at the Estridge address “after Spring admitted the money was proceeds from the sale of marijuana,” according to the affidavit.

Shelby County Property Assessor’s records list Jeremy Street as owner of the Estridge address.

A Shelby County Schools spokesman said Christy Street has been employed with the district since 2007 and will be placed on administrative leave while the case is investigated. Christy Street
