Downtown Memphis Commission, Victorian Village and the Associatio­n for the Preservati­on of Tennessee Antiquitie­s will host a project launch party on July 1, 4- 6 p.m., to celebrate the commenceme­nt of renovation­s on the historic James Lee House. The event will be at the James Lee House, 690 Adams.

The building has been vacant since 1959 and has been maintained and protected by the Associatio­n for the Preservati­on of Tennessee Antiquitie­s over the years.

The event will include refreshmen­ts, entertainm­ent and a preview of the plans with Mayor A C Wharton, Councilman Lee Harris, and new owners Jose and Jennifer Velazquez, J.W. Gibson and Cathy Buckman.
