Man sentenced in citizenship case
GULFPORT — An Argentine who used a Jackson County man’s identity for a job in Biloxi has been sentenced to time served for making false statements about his citizenship to gain employment in the United States.
The Sun Herald reports 43-year-old Antonio Martin Ferrer was sentenced on a guilty plea in federal court Wednesday. Chief District Judge Louis Guirola Jr. gave Ferrer credit for his five months in custody plus a year’s probation, and ordered him held pending further legal action.
