Sierra Seese, of Olive Branch, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2013 semester at Berry College, indicating a semester GPA of 3.5 or better.
Stonehill College recently named Memphis resident Brianna M. Damplo, a member of the Class of 2015, to its Dean’s List for the Spring 2013 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered. Stonehill is a Catholic college located near Boston, in Easton, Mass.
The two local residents were among the 592 students who received degrees during Commencement exercises at Grove City College on May 18. Ashley-Elizabeth Wright, a 2009 homeschool graduate, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She is the daughter of David and Connie Wright of Collierville. Andrew Baur earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Baur, a 2009 graduate of Westminster Academy, is the son of Peter and Lois Baur of Memphis.
Matt McCurdy has been named to the Dean’s List for the winter/spring term at Centre College. To be eligible for this recognition, a student must maintain at least a 3.60 grade-point average. McCurdy, a graduate of St Benedict At Auburndale, is the son of Mark and Carol McCurdy of Bartlett.
Elise Kidwell Burch has graduated Summa Cum Laude from Austin College, with Bachelor of Art degrees and honors in Mathematics and Asian Studies; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Students designated Summa Cum Laude earned a grade-point average of 3.85 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The designation “Honors” indicates successful completion of the Departmental Honors Program. These students were invited by faculty, based upon excellent research potential and exceptional performance, to complete a senior thesis. Each student defends the thesis in an oral examination administered by the student’s thesis committee. Additionally, Burch was named to the college’s Dean’s List for Spring 2013. She is the daughter of Sharon and Reggi Burch of Memphis.
Army National Guard Pfc. Brandon E. Williams has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Williams, a 2012 graduate of Messick Adult High School, is the son of Christiphor Fulton and grandson of Doris Martin, both of Memphis.
Air Force Airman Joseph F. Peel graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Peel, a 2012 graduate of Arlington High School, is the son of Joe Peel of Oakland and Sandy Peel of Lakeland.
Army Pvt. Isaac D. Griffin has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Griffin is a 2007 graduate of Melrose High School in Memphis.
Air Force Airman 1st Class John M. Wolf graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Wolf is the son of Dennis Wolf and Barbara Wowk, both of Cordova. He is a 2006 graduate of White Station High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Army Pvt. Nefertiti A. Foster has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Foster is a 2012 graduate of Oakhaven High School.
