Woman sentenced in drug ring
ABERDEEN — A 45-year-old Okolona woman has been sentenced to five years’ probation for her role in a regional drug ring.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports that Sheila Small was sentenced last week in U. S. District Court in Aberdeen.
Small pleaded guilty last October to conspiring to travel to Texas to distribute proceeds of an unlawful cocaine enterprise in north Mississippi.
Small faced up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
She is one of the last defendants to be sentenced in a case involving 17 others, most of whom have pleaded guilty and been sentenced to prison terms.
Most of the indictments came in December 2011.
