This summer Porter-Leath held a kickoff event for the DeSoto County Youth Court Mentor Program. The program was created by Judge Celeste Wilson to provide insight, motivation, support, direction and education to DeSoto County youth.

Through the yearlong program, mentors from the Mid-South meet weekly in a one-on-one setting with DeSoto County youth. Mentors will work with youth identified by Wilson to help improve their attitude and behavioral skills, motivate them to achieve academic success and strengthen their community bonds.

Porter-Leath is dedicated to expanding services and providing quality mentors for children in DeSoto County. The organization launched its first DeSoto County program, the Retired Seniors and Volunteers Program, in 2010.
