Source: Mizzou’s Haith off to Tulsa

OKLAHOMA CITY — Missouri coach Frank Haith is about to replace Danny Manning at Tulsa.

Sources at Tulsa and multiple media reports say Haith is the frontrunne­r for the job, and he was traveling to the school Thursday.

Haith coached at Miami (Fla.) before taking over at Missouri. He led Missouri to a 30-5 record in 2011-12 and was The Associated Press Coach of the Year. The Tigers went 18-12 this season.

Manning left Tulsa after two seasons to take over at Wake Forest. He coached the Golden Hurricane to the NCAA tournament this season.

One and done: Duke’s Jabari Parker, a 6-8 AllAmerica forward, said Thursday he’ll enter the NBA draft after being the highest-scoring freshman in Blue Devils history. He was also the first freshman to lead the Blue Devils in scoring and rebounding, and the first freshman in three decades to be selected team MVP. ... Kentucky guard James Young will enter the draft, becoming the first of the Wildcats’ heralded freshmen to turn pro. The 6- 6 Young led Kentucky with 82 3-pointers last season. He was one of six high school AllAmerica­ns on the national runner-up Wildcats. The Wildcats’ second-leading scorer averaged 14.3 points and 4.3 rebounds.

UCLA guard stays: Sophomore guard Jordan Adams said he will return to UCLA for his junior season and won’t enter the NBA draft.

Next season, the Bruins will be without sophomore Kyle Anderson and freshman Zach LaVine, both of whom said this week they’re leaving school early to go pro.

Adams led the Bruins in scoring with 17.4 points per game, was the secondlead­ing rebounder with 5.3 per game, and set the school season steals record with 95. He was named first team All-Pac-12.

UT Martin adds local players: Itawamba Community College sophomore point guard Alex Anderson, an East High alumnus, has signed with Tennessee-Martin.

Anderson was named a second-team National Junior College Athletic Associatio­n All-American after averaging 16.7 points, 4.6 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals last season.

The Skyhawks also signed freshman-to-be Fatodd Lewis, a 6-8 forward out of Raleigh-Egypt.

Lewis averaged 23.8 points and 14 rebounds for the Pharaohs.
