Volunteer Mid-South has many opportunities. If you’ve never volunteered through Volunteer MidSouth, register online at volunteermidsouth.org. Click on the “Become a Member” tab. Then click on the new volunteer orientation link on the home page.
TEEN VOLUNTEER FAIR
Mid-South teens, ages 13-19, are invited to the Mid-South Teen Summer Volunteer Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar. Teens can talk with representatives from local nonprofits and sign up for volunteer opportunities. There’s no charge to attend.
SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY
Become a docent at the Memphis Brooks
Museum of Art. Volunteer as a museum guide and share the wonders of art in the Brooks’ permanent collection and special exhibitions with visitors of all ages. This special volunteer position requires a two-year commitment to the docent program and a six-month training course in art history and learning practices. Potential docents must be available to conduct tours one day per week ( Wednesday-Friday) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, call 901-5446244, or visit brooksmuseum.org/docentprogram to apply.
