The 2014 edition of the Memphis Public Library and Information Center’s Bookstock will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar.
Among the events:
11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Meeting Rooms A, B, C: “From the South to Around the World: International Spy Thrillers,” a panel with the authors Eric Jerome Dickey, Mark Greaney and Keith Thomson
1-2 p.m., Meeting rooms A, B, C: Keynote speech by Eric Jerome Dickey
2:15-3:30 p.m., Meeting rooms A, B, C: “Summertime Is Crime Time,” a panel with mystery/crime writers Megan Abbott, Ace Atkins, Scott Phillips and Michael Kardos
11 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Memphis Room: “True Memphis Stories,” with local authors Wei Chen, Dan Conaway, Miriam DeCostaWillis and The Owen College History Committee, Marie Pizano and Blanche Jordan Scott
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Room L-56: live taping of “Book Talk,” “A Conversation with Deborah Johnson”
12:35 p.m. through 3:30 p.m., Room L-56: cooking demonstrations
1:30-2:30 p.m., Room L-56: “More than the Ingredients,” with Alexe Van Beuren, author of the “B.T.C. Old-Fashioned Grocery Cookbook” BOOKSTOCK JR., Children’s Department
11 a.m.–2 p.m.: “Tinkertunes and Balloons.” Clowns provide face painting and balloon animals. Food trucks will be stationed in front of the Central Library.
