4th Fire Academy for kids starting
BRIEFLY
Southaven’s 4th annual Fire Academy for Kids begins with two sessions this month and next month.
The first session will be June 16-20 and is free to all Southaven children ages 8 to 12. The second session is July 21-25.
The program is open to the first 20 children whose parents or guardians turn in applications.
During the weeklong program, children learn about life safety, motor-vehicle safety and fire safety, as well as what it’s like to be a firefighter.
To register, come by the Southaven Fire Department administration offices at 8710 Northwest Drive to fill out an application.
For more information, go to southaven.org or call Malena Alderman, the public safety and life educator, at 662-393-7466, ext. 249 or e-mail her at malderman@southaven.org.
