Ice causes crash that kills 2 in Marshall County

A fatal two- car accident in Marshall County on Thursday was caused when one of the driver’s lost control after his car skidded on ice, the Mississipp­i Highway Patrol confirmed. .

Mississipp­i Highway Patrolman Joey Miller said in an e-mail that Joshua Cunningham, 25, and his passenger, Crystal McDonald, 27, both of Aberdeen, Mississipp­i, were killed in the crash that occurred at 7:38 a.m. on U.S. 78. The location is in the area of mile marker 21 at the Red Banks overpass, he said.

Miller said Cunningham lost control of his car after sliding on ice.
