Grand plans?

Here we go again (March 28 article, “Plan for Central Station on track”). We are going to transform historic “Central Station into a kinetic, connected, central place with an engaging Memphis pulse.” I thought we already did that in 2001 at the Peabody Place. What makes this new development any different? It is nice to know that you are going to maintain your commitment to the Trolley Museum (even though you don’t know where they are going to end up) and to the Memphis Farmers Market (they can set up in the theater parking lot).

Wouldn’t it be nice if the MATA Board could spend their time doing the job they were hired to do and “get the trolleys running again,” or is that simply too much to ask?
