Spurs rout Nuggets, but Splitter injured

SAN ANTONIO — Danny Green scored 21 points, including 6-for-6 shooting on 3-pointers, and San Antonio cruised to a 12393 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, the Spurs’ sixth straight win.

The Spurs won despite losing Tiago Splitter early to a right calf injury.

Danilo Galinari scored 20 points to lead Denver.

The Spurs (50-26) extended their league record of consecutiv­e 50-win seasons to 16 and moved into a tie with the Los Angeles Clippers for fifth in the Western Conference.

OTHER GAMES

Wizards 101, Knicks 87 at Washington: Marcin Gortat scored 19 points and Bradley Beal added 18 for the Wizards.

Otto Porter, starting his second straight game for the Wizards, scored 17. John Wall was held to six points, but he had a career-high 18 assists for Washington, which has won three of four.

With a game at FedExForum against the Grizzlies tonight, the Wizards rested Paul Pierce (for the second straight game) and Nene. Drew Gooden started in place of Nene and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Bulls 88, Pistons 82 at Chicago: Pau Gasol had 26 points and 10 rebounds for his 50th double-double of the season for the Bulls, who won for the fourth time in five games.

Gasol secured the double-double and the win with 5.7 seconds to play when he had a tip-dunk of Taj Gibson’s miss and was fouled by Andre Drummond. Gasol hit the free throw, giving Chicago a four-point lead.

Nets 114, Raptors 109 at New York: Deron Williams scored a season-high 31 points, former Mitchell star Thaddeus Young made the tiebreakin­g basket with 22 seconds left, and Brooklyn earned its season-high sixth straight victory. Young tied his season high with 29 points.

Pacers 93, Hornets 74 at Indianapol­is: Rodney Stuckey scored 15 points off the bench to lead Indiana. C.J. Watson had 13 points and four steals for the Pacers, who had lost two in a row.

Bucks 110, Celtics 101 at Boston: Ersan Ilyasova led Milwaukee’s third-quarter comeback from a halftime deficit with 11 points. Trailing 52-50 at halftime, the Bucks outscored the Celtics 36-23 in the third quarter and took an 86-75 lead.

Magic 97, Timberwolv­es 84 at Minneapoli­s: Nikola Vucevic scored a careerhigh 37 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to power Orlando. Andrew Wiggins had 22 points for Minnesota.
