Forrest statue not the most pressing issue

- Nancy Ferrer, Cordova

Regarding your June 26 article “Wharton: Move Forrest statue, remains,” is this such a pressing issue to warrant a front-page, abovethe-fold headline, when we have rampant, random crimes being committed by young people in our community in very public places in broad daylight?

I understand the desire to move the statue, but Mayor Wharton had better address the crime problem occurring in all parts of the city or he will be facing a growing number of taxpaying residents looking to move elsewhere. I know many who are in the process of doing so.
