Couple accused of abusing 5 adults

A George County grand jury has indicted a couple on a charge alleging they exploited at least five men under their care in an unlicensed senior care facility.

George County Sheriff ’s Office says Allen and Eunice Boone operated the center and took advantage of the men in August 2013.

The Sun Herald newspaper says authorities accuse the couple of accepting more than $250 from each victim to provide shelter, food and prescriptions in violation of state law.

The couple also are accused of illegally or improperly using the men’s resources for personal gain with or without their permission.

Both are held at the Stone County Jail on bonds of $10,000 each. The couple have been incarcerated since June 10.
