INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Area municipalities are hosting Independence Day firework celebrations this week:
Collierville: The 30th annual Independence Day Celebration at H.W. Cox Park is tonight. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with entertainment by G3 and Elvis. The fireworks show will start at 9:45 p.m. A free shuttle service will run from Collierville High to H.W. Cox Park from 6-10 p.m.
Germantown: Fireworks Extravaganza is Saturday at Municipal Park. The event starts at 5 p.m. and the firework display will begin at 9:10. In addition to fireworks, there will be live music, moon bounces, games, crafts and more.
Hernando: The Hernando Independence Day Celebration will begin at 6 tonight at the Hernando Civic Center Ballfield Complex, 3800 Robertson Gin Road. The concession stand will be operated by Friends of Hernando organization.
Horn Lake: The city’s July 4th Fireworks Spectacular is tonight at Latimer Lakes Park, 5633 Tulane Road. It begins at 6 p.m. with fireworks set for 9:15 p.m. Children’s activities and entertainment will be provided by Colonial Hills Church.
Memphis: The Independent Bank Fireworks Spectacular is Saturday at Mud Island River Park. Festivities start at 6 p.m. with live music; the fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Millington: The Flag City Freedom Celebration is 4-7 p.m. today at Navy Lake in Millington. The event is open to the public, and there will be a $5 gate fee per vehicle. Faithfully Journey will be performing.
Olive Branch: The July 4 celebration starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at Olive Branch City Park. The fireworks will start at 9 p.m. There will be food, vendors and a kids area.
Southaven: The city’s fireworks display is Saturday at Snowden Grove, 6205 Old Getwell, and gates open at 6:30 p.m. The fireworks will be lit at 9 p.m.
