Suspect charged in ATM robberies

Memphis police have arrested a suspect in connection with several ATM robberies in Cordova.

Darian Terrell, 23, has been charged with five counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of possessing a firearm during the commission/attempt to commit a dangerous felony, aggravated kidnapping and attempted aggravated robbery.

Police said Terrell is one of two suspects caught on surveillan­ce cameras at a bank on Germantown Parkway.

Terrell is accused of committing four robberies on July 25, with the first two at the Regions Bank drive-thru ATM at 1045 N. Germantown Parkway In both robberies, the victims were made to withdraw cash from the ATM at gunpoint by a suspect later identified as Terrell, according to an arrest affidavit.

The last two robberies occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank at 1365 N. Germantown Parkway.

According to an affidavit, in one of the robberies at the Wells Fargo, the victims told police that the suspect robbed them at gunpoint, then forced them to drive him to another location where he got out and fled on foot, according to the affidavit.

Investigat­ors with Appling Farms precinct received informatio­n that identified Terrell as a suspect. Two of the victims then identified Terrell from a photo line up, according to the affidavit.

Terrell was arrested at his mother’s home on Macon Road on Saturday. Police searched the home and found clothing that Terrell was seen wearing during the robberies.

Terrell gave a statement to police about the robberies, according to an affidavit. He was being held on $35,000 bond.
