Youth killed when riding mower flips

A 16-year-old was killed on July 28 when a riding mower flipped and landed on top of him in DeSoto County, authorities confirmed.

Dick Hackett, a spokesman for the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department, said the youth, Barrett Williams, was on the mower when it flipped and fell on top of him in a culvert filled with water. The accident occurred near Vaiden and Craft roads.
