Germantown Apple Store may move

-

The Shops of Saddle Creek has obtained a construction permit for the Apple Store at a different place within the Germantown shopping center than the existing Apple Store.

The permit values the construction of a new shop front and interior renovations at $1.5 million. The existing Apple Store is at 7615 Farmington, the part of Saddle Creek that is north of Poplar. But the address for the work described on the permit is 2031 West, the part of Saddle Creek that is south of Poplar and has been undergoing a major reconstruction.

An Apple Store manager referred a reporter to the company’s media contacts, who did not return calls on Monday. Saddle Creek officials did not answer the phone, and the office appeared to be closed on Monday.

MEH Architects is designing the changes, the permit states. Trademark Property Co., based in Fort Worth, Texas, purchased the 28-year-old Saddle Creek in 2011 and announced its plan of partial demolition, construction and renovation in 2013. The company demolished 20,000 square feet and added 40,000 square feet.
