Junior college cornerbacks — and former University of Oklahoma football players — Marcus Green and Tito Windham recently posted on Twitter that they intend to join the University of Memphis program.

The Tigers also added to their 2017 recruiting class Thursday night, when Rhea County (Tennessee) tight end Jared Edwards orally committed to Memphis.

Originally a three-star recruit out of Cedar Hill (Texas) High School, Green appeared in eight games as a redshirt freshman at Oklahoma last season before coach Bob Stoops announced in December that he had been “removed from the team.” The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder then enrolled at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, a junior college in Miami, Oklahoma. He posted on Twitter on Wednesday that he will continue his career at Memphis this spring.

Windham, who was also a three-star recruit out of high school, redshirted at Oklahoma during the 2014 season. The Gulfport, Mississippi, native transferred to Northwest Mississippi Junior College last summer and posted on Twitter last month that he had committed to the Tigers.

Green and Windham are classified as 4-2-4 transfers, which means they began their careers at four-year universities before transferring to two-year schools. In such cases, there must be a gap of at least one calendar year between the player leaving one four-year university and playing at another. This would prevent Green, who left Oklahoma in December, from suiting up for Memphis in the fall. Windham, who spent all of the 2015-16 academic year in junior college, could be immediately eligible, should he meet a variety of other academic benchmarks outlined by the NCAA.

Edwards, meanwhile, is rated a three-star prospect by 247 Sports and a twostar recruit by Rivals. He also reportedly held offers from 17 other Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision schools, including Navy and UAB.

North Pontotoc (Mississippi) running back Zay Cullens, St. Paul’s (Alabama) cornerback Tamaurice Smith, Cordova defensive lineman Braylon Brown and East running back Timothy Taylor have also orally committed to join Memphis’ 2017 class.
