Forward-thinking school

St. George’s Independent School started an admirable experiment 15 years ago (“St. George’s experiment,” June 5 article). The comments expressed against the program by a white student mean that he and some of his classmates do not accept the incredibly positive vision of St. George’s. I am sure that does not reflect the feelings of all of the students.

It is important for young people to be in difficult situations and learn to navigate. It is very important that the school continues to take our community into the 21st century and beyond and not leave us back into the time of segregation and division.

Congratulations to the five graduates who succeeded in earning a giant step forward. Congratulations to those who helped them do so.
